As part of our senior capstone class, we embarked on an insightful trip to Yellowstone National Park, where we had the opportunity to engage with various organizations and speak directly with the park superintendent. This experience allowed us to deepen our understanding of park management, conservation challenges, and collaborative efforts essential to maintaining such a vast natural treasure. While there, we observed and took detailed notes on visitor behavior, learning firsthand how public interaction impacts the park’s ecosystems and operations. Watching highlights of Yellowstone’s natural wonders added to the experience, reinforcing the importance of sustainable practices and informed recreation management. This trip was invaluable in bridging our classroom knowledge with real-world applications, fostering a greater appreciation for the complexities of managing iconic national parks.
